While there is no shortage of revelers in green in the month of March looking for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, an enchanted community on Fire Island discovered a long time ago that true riches lies in the loving support of good friends and neighbors. Held at The Monster of Manhattan’s West Village this year on Sunday, March 12, the annual In Town Party represents the kick-off of fundraisers for the Arts Project of Cherry Grove (APCG) to finance a whirlwind of events throughout the season on their precious slice of Fire Island. The afternoon included an open bar with food, a piano sing-a-long with Dan Daly, and tunes spun by DJ Flotilla DeBarge downstairs. Some of the distinguished guests included APCG Homecoming Queen JizzaBella, who holds onto her crown for a couple more months, APCG President Thom Hasen, Sugar B. Real looking like a picture of spring in her butterfly dress, Matt Baney, Joey Bond and so many others. In town today – Fire Island tomorrow!
