While gray skies prevailed this first weekend of summer, there was no shortage of color in Cherry Grove, as the 2023 Pride Parade was a grand spectacle to behold on Saturday, June 24. While such festivities continue to emerge during pride month, including Long Island enclaves like Patchogue and Babylon Village, Cherry Grove is and remains among the first spots in the country to hold this annual celebration, and it shows with the bold confidence that con be found right here on Fire Island.
Suffolk County Police Department came out in full force, as did Northwell Health, the Cherry Grove Volunteer Fire Department, and some handsome men in black leather. Other friends we saw included local celebrity drag queen China, FIN columnist Bob Levine looking dapper, Porsche as Arts Project of Cherry Grove Homecoming Queen 2023, Thom Hansen, Robyn Byrd, Lorraine Michels, Joan Van Ness and Edrie Ferdun were just some of the friendly faces we spotted in the crowd.
