Legendary Bartender, Beverage Director, and Hospitality Ambassador Ernie Liebow, who opened George Martin Original Steakhouse in September 1989, will be pouring his last drink this month, going on 36 years.

Ernie is a true professional and a fixture on Long Island’s dining scene. He will be remembered as one of the “great ones,” and if there were a Hall of Fame, Ernie would undoubtedly be on top of the list. Rockville Centre and surrounding communities will truly miss his old-school style, wit, and his ability to connect with everyone sitting across from him.

As BillyJoel sings in his iconic song Piano Man, “he is quick with a joke and he will light up your smoke,” but at George Martin, no one drinks for free! A great family man, golfer, and fisherman with a vast knowledge of sports, Ernie will be genuinely missed.

George Martin Group will be hosting a retirement party for Ernie on Sunday, June 8th, from noon to 3 p.m. with a cash bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a buffet.
