The Rollstone Foundation is based on the idea of every day miracles, and every day miracles happen by every day people who do extraordinary things. Veteran South Shore Long Island journalist, editor, and published author Linda Leuzzi along with her husband, Vincent Leuzzi, will be honoree recipients at the Rollstone Foundation’s 18th Annual Save More gala event, to be held at The Mansion at Timber Point in Great River on May 14.

Founded in 2007 by Babylon Village Attorney Pamela Greene and political analyst Mike Dawidziak, residents of Bayport, the Rollstone Foundation’s mission is to support the adoption of special needs children worldwide.

“I was surprised when they asked us to be honorees,” said Leuzzi. “Mike and Pam have some heavy-hitter contacts who contribute generously. Vinny and I have done our bit on a modest basis, but Mike said to me, ‘It’s also about being a good person and supporting Rollstone.’”

Leuzzi is a former editor-in-chief of Islip Bulletin and The Long Island Advance newspapers with Tuttle Publishing, and has won multiple New York Press Association (NYPA) awards on behalf of the publisher. She has also authored several books, including My Year with the Italian Girl, published in 2023.

Her byline started appearing in the Fire Island News in 2023, and she began contributing to Great South Bay News when it started publishing with Schneps Media last October.

Last month, on the six-month anniversary of Great South Bay News’ publication, it was announced that Leuzzi brought home the first NYPA Journalism Award to its credit: a Second-Place Better Newspaper Contest (BNC) award in the Personal Profile category for her interview with actress Isabella Rossellini, entitled Isabella’s Element, which was published in our November 2024 edition, shortly before Rossellini’s Best Actress Academy Award nomination for her role in Conclave.

Isabella’s Element – great read, fun insights. A special treat for readers who turned the page and found this delicious treat,” remarked the judges in NYPA’s 2024 BNC commemorative journal.

Also honored at the Save More gala are Emily and Micah Brokaw of Hughesville, PA, recipients of a 2024 grant to assist in adopting young Micah from Bulgaria.

The Save More Gala takes place on May 14 at The Mansion at Timber Point in Great River, with cocktail hour beginning at 6:30 p.m. and dinner to follow.
