  • In our last issue of Fire Island News, our cover art featured an image of Davis Park Ferry’s vessel, Kiki, arriving at shore on Fire Island. In this issue, a painting of Kiki shows the vessel departing Fire Island and heading back across the Great South Bay. Victoria Schneps, Founder of Schneps Media, personally chose the cover artwork. She had long been searching for an image of a ferry making the journey back home to the mainland to close out our summer season. Jane Corbellini delivered exactly what she was looking for—with both technical skill and grace. Meet the Fire ISland News Cover Artist: Jane Corbellini
  • That’s a wrap! We have had a busy and productive summer, but all things must pass. Our Sept. 4 issue of Fire Island News marks the end of the season with farewells, a touch of nostalgia, and stays on point with current, relevant topics. • History, real estate, and community news punctuate the August 28 edition of Fire Island News, which arrives at local newsstands this week. Fire Island News Closes Out August with the Second-to-Last Issue of the 2026 Season
  • The image on the cover of this issue of Fire Island News is a classic South Shore Long Island bay house—a pen-and-ink with watercolor rendition of a familiar site that Great South Bay boaters and ferry riders see all the time. The charming cottages that dot the islets in the bay are full of wonder and intrigue. Artist Michael White fondly recalled visiting the South Shore beaches with his parents in his youth: Meet Fire Island News Cover Artist: Michael White
