She had been found that morning at 7:25 a.m. by the Suffolk County Police Department  (SCPD), injured and in an unresponsive state, inside a vehicle parked at a Speedway gas station on Horseblock Road in Yaphank.

Excitement was in the air as over 900 Girl Scouts descended upon South Shore Mall on the evening of Jan. 16 to kick off the 2026 cookie season. Activities included a “Girl Scouts Got Talent” show, where finalists performed their own original Girl Scout Cookie songs, along with cookie previews and creative snacks. Girl Scouts also created their own original social media content as part of the “Media Girls” program.

Fire Island National Seashore (FINS) has announced that professional sharpshooters will be deployed to the grounds surrounding the William Floyd Estate in Mastic Beach and National Park Service (NPS) tracks  (including but not limited to Watch Hill, the Sunken Forest, and Fire Island Lighthouse) on Fire Island proper, as they commence their eighth winter of deer culling operations for the remainder of this month.

He gets a taste of his own medicine when he returns to school in a dream to find that everyone has become a zombie, and he is now the outcast. This is a heartfelt and funny play that teaches a valuable lesson about friends and belonging. The play by Roger Emerson and John Jacobson will be performed live one night only by the students of Woodhull Elementary School. Refreshments will follow.
