Kismet Coffee, previously located next to Fire Island Vines in Bay Shore, has now opened a new, expanded location a few stores away at 45 W. Main St. The original Kismet Coffee opened as a coffee stand in 2022 by Jackson Davis in the namesake Fire Island community, where he grew up, by the Kismet ferry terminal. In 2024, they opened their kiosk inside Ocean Beach Trading.

Featured is Mourning at the Manor, a historic reenactment of a Victorian wake. Join in the reenactment of the funeral procession and meet some of the family spirits along the way! Town of Islip's Annual SeaFest was held at Bay Shore Marina, which was an ideal setting for Great South Bay area favorite, now in its seventh year. Festival attendees of all ages enjoyed food trucks, craft beer, pony rides, a petting zoo, beach games, and fun on the stunning Great South Bay, along with dozens of vendors selling handcrafted items and gifts. Live music from guest band J Haus kept the celebration lively, and visitors could dance the whole day without worries, as the Town offered free parking and admission.

At the turn of the century, Bay Shore became a hotspot for some of the nation's most successful business leaders. Maple Avenue, Ocean Avenue, and Shore Lane earned the nickname Millionaires' Row by locals. The Havemeyer sugar family, Thomas Adams, founder of Adams Chewing Gum, and Detective Agency heir Robert A. Pinkerton all had homes along the canals of Bay Shore.

Carl Chin, age 41, and a resident of Bay Shore, was arrested by the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office on September 13 after he attempted to flee a traffic stop and was found in possession of nearly three ounces of fentanyl. Chin was driving westbound on Sunrise Highway, east of exit 51 in Patchogue, at approximately 11:22 p.m., when a Deputy Sheriff attempted to pull him over for failing to stay within the marked lane.
